Nigeria-Eligible Striker Tipped For Big Things Scores On Manchester United U18 Debut
Published: February 23, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com's prediction has come to pass, with Nigeria-eligible striker Mipo Odubeko making his competitive debut for Manchester United U18s as they shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers at Rovers Training Centre (Brockhall Village, Lancashire) on Saturday afternoon.
A Republic of Ireland youth-teamer, the prolific striker was handed his U18s debut by United coach Neil Ryan after impressing for the U16s in their recent tour of Slovakia where they beat FK Poprad 5-0 in a friendly on Monday.
Odubeko, who has been tipped for big things, repaid the faith shown in him by the manager after scoring 21 minutes into his debut.
Ten minutes after Laird had opened the scoring, the Nigerian doubled the advantage when he rounded the goalkeeper and finished well off an assist from Galbraith.
Odubeko, who logged the full ninety, equally came close to scoring again after some eye catching foot work in the area but his angled effort was beaten away for a corner by opposing goalkeeper, Jordan Eastham.
However, it was not a winning debut for the youngster as Blackburn Rovers scored two goals in the second half to salvage a draw.
