Official : 2013 AFCON-Winning Midfielder Gabriel Joins Saudi Club Najran FC
Published: February 06, 2019Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammad bin Salman League side Najran Sport Club have officially confirmed the capture of Nigerian midfielder Reuben Gabriel on undisclosed terms.
Gabriel has joined the Saudi Arabian second-tier team on a free transfer and last wore the jersey of KuPS in Finland.
The 28-year-old was a member of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations but was a non-playing substitute in all their matches because he was suffering from chicken pox.
The defensive midfielder began his professional career abroad with Scottish Premiership team Kilmarnock followed by spells at Waasland-Beveren, Boavista and Trencin.
Kano Pillars, Enyimba and Kaduna United are the clubs Gabriel represented in the Nigerian topflight prior to his move overseas.
Gabriel played one game at the 2014 World Cup against France when he came on as a substitute to replace the injured Eddy Onazi.
