Spanish, Belgian Clubs Mulling Over Move For Arsenal's Nwakali As Doubts Linger About Porto Deal
Published: January 11, 2019Former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles skipper Kelechi Nwakali may be recalled by Premier League side Arsenal in the January transfer window, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The former Super Eagles invitee was farmed out on loan to Portuguese club Porto for the entirety of the season and currently plays for their B team in the LigaPro.
Though Porto are hoping to keep the attacking midfielder until June 30, 2019, he believes he is good enough to play for the first team of a top European club.
And it is for that reason Nwakali is prepared to walk away from his deal with Porto before the close of the January transfer window though his situation has changed since the start of 2019, having started the last two matches played by Porto B in the league.
It is understood that Belgian and Spanish clubs are keeping tabs on the situation of the highly-rated youngster with a view to signing him on loan as Arsenal are not willing to sell him outright.
Kelechi Nwakali is tied into a deal with the Gunners until the summer of 2021.
