What Nigerian Football Fans Are Saying After Man City's Win Vs Liverpool
Published: January 04, 2019Football lovers in Nigeria had their say regarding the top-of-the-table clash between Manchester City and Liverpool which ended 2-1 in favour of the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium yesterday evening, with diverse opinions emerging.
While most fans are of the opinion that Pep Guardiola's side could still reel in Liverpool after the victory come the end of the season, some are still backing Reds to end their 28-years wait for a Premier League title despite the set back.
Sergio Aguero had earlier opened the scoring in the 40th minute but after Roberto Firmino had pegged back their hosts after 64 minutes, Leroy Sane popped up with the game winner 18 minutes from time to leave his team four points adrift of their opponents (54) at the summit of the table.
Below are some of the best opinions from Nigerian faithfuls on twitter..
@alfred_uka: We're still 4 points clear of City and top of the league by 7 points #YNWA 💝💝💝
@azeezMo: 1 game lost in a season isn't a bad thing.... LFC trounced UTD, that was magical, City will get theirs before the end of this season when they've finished in 3rd place.... YNWA
@olori_Ebi: Not surprised one bit.. Typical Liverpool performance..
@Chinere_Hope1: Liverpool still tops the table, the defeat changes nothing
@gracee_270: City fucking deserved it with the way we played. Didn't bother taking the game to them until the last 10 and got punished for it
@bayo_williams: This will be tight title race.
@Oyinbopepe3: Now the table is open for everyone
@Oluwagbemiga: Game on! 😉
@iambestb: Last season, Liverpool made Man City suffered their first defeat of the season but the loss couldn't stopped them from winning the league. This season Man City break Liverpool's unbeaten, funniest things is Liverpool might not win the league despite leading with 4points. #MCILIV
@RDsampson: That's how close @LFC will come to get their hands on @premierleague trophy. #PL #MCILIV
@omoissy: How other EPL teams be greeting Man City for beating Liverpool 😂
@AyodejiX2: Manchester City are the first team to beat Liverpool in the Premier League this season.
😑
20 games unbeaten run ends #MCILIV
@AHibukunholuwah: Arsenal fans be like I told you man city will beat Liverpool #MCILIV
@DonSim001: Don't just see it as 'just 4 points.' To overthrow that 4 points at this stage in the #EPL isn't an easy task.
@chris_chidex: It's no La liga neither are the FC Barcelona.
