Official : Chelsea Recall Defensive Midfielder From Loan Spell
Published: December 31, 2018Premier League side Chelsea have recalled defensive midfielder Charlie Colkett form his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town, the League One club have officially announced.
The 22-year-old's original agreement with the Blues would have seen him remain at the League One club until the end of the 2018-2019 season.
Colkett returning to his parent club Chelsea is not a surprise as he was denied first-team opportunities by manager Sam Ricketts.
He made only six appearances across all competitions, logging 336 minutes, from a possible 33.
The former Charlton Athletic youth-teamer previously spent time on loan at Bristol Rovers, Swindon and Vitesse Arnhem.
