Arsenal Whizkid Saka Battles Iwobi For Left Wing Role Vs Tottenham
Published: December 19, 2018Left winger Bukayo Saka is in contention to be included in Arsenal's provisional squad list when they battle Tottenham Hotspur in the quarterfinal of the League Cup at the Emirates on Wednesday evening.
The 17-year-old was spotted training with the first team at London Colney on Tuesday morning which is an indication that he is in line for a domestic debut.
Saka has made 17 appearances for Arsenal's youth teams in the current season and if you include his two games against Vorskla Poltava and Qarabag Agdam in the Europa League, he has 19 games under his belt.
He has been involved in 12 goals (5 goals and 7 assists) since the start of the season, statistics that prove he can score as well as create.
Another Hale End Academy product, Alex Iwobi, who is predominantly a left winger for Arsenal, also trained on Tuesday and Saka would be hoping the number seventeen is rested in order to improve his own chances of making the squad to face Tottenham .
Arsenal beat Brentford and Blackpool in the third and fourth round of the League Cup with Iwobi featuring in both matches.
