EPL : Iwobi's Arsenal 22-Game Unbeaten Run Ends; Balogun Gives Chelsea Helping Hand; Moses Not In Squad
Published: December 16, 2018Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi was in action for 69 minutes as Arsenal's 22 match unbeaten run came crashing down against Southampton at the St Mary's Stadium on Sunday with a 3-2 defeat.
Iwobi who made his 14th Premier League appearance found Nacho Monreal in the 33rd minute before the Spaniard lofted a pass headed home by Henrikh Mkhitaryan for the Gunners' equaliser after Danny Ings had put the Saints ahead.
Ings made it 2-1 afterwards but Mkhitaryan's deflected shot restored parity for Unai Emery's side. Substitute Charlie Austin made the victory safe for the home side.
Ozil came on for the Nigerian who has scored one goal so far this season.
At the Amex Stadium, Eagles defender Leon Balogun played his sixth league game of the campaign as Brighton battled hard but came short with a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, who were without Victor Moses.
Balogun's continued game time of late comes as Shane Duffy observes the second of his three match ban.

A Brighton goal by Solomon March proved consolation.
