Likely Destination For Ajax-Linked Nigerian Midfielder Dubbed The New N’Golo Kante Revealed
Published: December 12, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that AS Trenčín's Nigerian midfielder Abdul Zubairu, who has been labelled the new N’Golo Kante, remains on the wish list of more glamorous European teams in the January transfer window.
The GBS Academy product had been linked with possible moves to teams based in the Netherlands, France and Belgium, with the likes of Ajax Amsterdam, OGC Nice, Marseille and Borussia Mönchengladbach all credited with an interest.
Ajax were the club most linked with a move for Zubairu but the Eredivisie side have not backed up their interest with a concrete offer to AS Trenčín.
However, it is strongly believed that the Netherlands is his likely destination if he departs his Slovakian club.
A box-to-box destroyer, Zubairu is also blessed with playmaking
abilities and is capable of initiating attacks and creating
opportunities with his vision.
Just four days ago, the 20-year-old played his 25th match in all competitions for AS Trenčín in their 3-1 loss to Spartak Trnava.
