Nigerian-Born Winger Reveals Club Brugge Beat Manchester City To His Signature
Published: September 17, 2018Nigerian-born winger Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld has sensationally revealed that Manchester City were unable to persuade him to join the club before he transferred to Club Brugge this summer.
The Netherlands U21 star joined Club Brugge on a four-year deal from NEC Nijmegen and has also claimed that the Belgian champions not only beat City but teams based in Germany and France.
''Club really wanted me. I like that attention. When I came here, it was immediately clear to me. Compared to all other clubs that were interested, including Manchester City, I can best develop here," Danjuma told Voetbal International.
"They (Dutch clubs) reported, but I consciously chose Bruges.
"There was also interest from Germany, England and France. I follow my feelings, always. I cannot explain how that works, but here it was just right."

Danjuma and Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis have both been named in the Club Brugge squad for tomorrow's Champions League meeting with Borussia Dortmund at Jan Breydelstadion.
