Official: NFF Target Becomes Fourth Nigerian Loaned Out By Chelsea After Joining Scunthorpe United
Published: August 30, 2018Ike Ugbo has today become the fourth Nigerian player to be loaned out by English Premier League club Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
EFL League One club Scunthorpe United have informed through their official website that they have signed striker Ike Ugbo on loan until January from Premier League side Chelsea.
Previously, Ola Aina, Kenneth Omeruo and Fikayo Tomori were loaned out by the Blues to Torino, CD Leganes and Derby County respectively for the whole of the 2018-2019 season.
Ugbo is an England U20 international but the Nigerian Federation are planning to invite him to one of the national teams after holding talks with the striker in London this year before the friendly against Serbia.
The 19-year-old played on loan at Barnsley and MK Dons last season.
Scunthorpe United have handed Ike Ugbo the number nine jersey until January 2019.
