No League Debut For Rangers' Sadiq, Ejaria Enters Game As Sub
Published: August 05, 2018Nigeria U23 star Umar Sadiq remained on the substitutes bench for the entirety of Rangers' 1-1 draw with Aberdeen on match day one in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
The Roma loanee also watched proceedings from the bench against Osijek three days ago as Rangers sealed their qualification to the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
Having started against the Croatian opponents, manager Steven Gerrard opted to introduce his number ten Ovie Ejaria for the last eight minutes of today's contest against The Dons.
Speaking post match, the Liverpool legend revealed that he was proud of Ejaria and 12 other players that took to the Pittodrie Stadium pitch.
Gerrard told Rangers TV : ''First and foremost, I am very proud of my players – the players that started and the players who came on – the effort they put in to the game was magnificent.
''I am gutted for them that they never got over the line and took maximum points as I think we deserved it.''

Rangers face Maribor in the Europa League on Thursday and Sadiq will be hoping to make his competitive debut for the Glasgow club.
