Ahmed Musa : Nigeria Are Favorites To Progress In Group D, Our Plan Is To Beat Croatia, Iceland
Published: June 13, 2018Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa has picked Nigeria as the favorites to progress in Group D ahead of Argentina and noted that they have to win their games against Croatia and Iceland.
Musa admitted that the Super Eagles first game against Croatia on Saturday will be difficult but they hope to win despite the opponents having in their ranks Real Madrid's Luka Modrić, Barcelona's Ivan Rakitić and Liverpool's Dejan Lovren.
Answering questions from reporters whom he considers the favorite of the group, Musa was quoted as saying by tass.ru: ''I think, Nigeria."
The Super Eagles number seven added : ''We need a maximum, I think we need six points. The plan is to win the first two games.''
Musa added that he was pleased with the atmosphere in Essentuki and the
hotel, and he was also impressed by the meeting that was arranged for
the team when they arrived in Russia.
He was on target in the Super Eagles training game that took place on Tuesday evening.
