Experienced Super Eagles Star Ahead Of Czech Friendly : England Mistakes Will Be Corrected
Published: June 05, 2018Super Eagles and AS Monaco Left back, Elderson Echiejile has assured football loving Nigerians that the team’s tactical errors against England will be corrected before the Czech Republic friendly.
Echiejile who was an unused substitute at Wembley against England is confident the Super Eagles can adapt quickly and right all the wrongs before the Czech cracker and the start of the World Cup.
A very sloppy first half for the Super Eagles resulted in two goals for England which condemned Gernot Rohr’s team to a 2-1 loss despite a much improved second-half performance from the team.
Echiejile is expected to start the game against the Czech Republic as Coach Gernot Rohr will be looking to field a much different starting XI from England’s game.
He highlighted his readiness to fill any left position for the Eagles ahead of the World Cup.
The former Braga defender said playing in the left fullback position or left wing back depends solely on the tactical decisions of the team’s handlers.
“I can play as a left fullback or a left wing-back, as you know football has evolved over time, playing on either position now depend on the tactics the manager is deploying, '' Echiejile stated.
The much-traveled defender also hinted that Brazil has given the Super Eagles the clue on how to beat Croatians after watching the Croats lose 2-0 to the Samba boys.
''I feel we now have a clue on how to face Croatia, looking at the game vs Brazil.''
Echiejile also urges Nigerians to continually pray and rally support for the Super Eagles as he promises the team will not disappoint in Russia.
The Super Eagles are camped in Austria preparing for their next friendly against the Czech Republic on Wednesday, June 6 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
