Super Eagles defender Abdullahi Shehu has admitted that they made a lot of mistakes during the first half of their friendly with England but controlled the second half after Rohr switched to a 3-5-2 formation and made some substitutions.
The Bursaspor star says they have learned a lesson ahead of their trip to Russia for the 2018 World Cup.
''England was strong in the first half, we know we made some mistakes but we will go back to make sure we correct our mistakes,'' Shehu told reporters in the mixed-zone.
''We didn't start very well in the first half, and they started very well and in the second half we controlled the game, we were much better.''
The Super Eagles almost overturned a two-goal deficit just as they did against Argentina last November, and Shehu has credited manager Gernot Rohr for getting his tactics spot on in the second half.
''It is good for the coach also to have some options of the game to see his game plan and how he can change.
''All the players, we are already to play so anyone that gets the opportunity to play, we are ready to play so it's left for the coach to choose how he wants to play and how he can change his game to get better,'' concluded Shehu.
