England Relocate To Arsenal Base Ahead Of Nigeria Friendly
Published: May 31, 2018On Thursday, May 31, the English National Team continued their preparations for the international friendly against Nigeria with another training session which was not held at St George's Park.
The English Football Association has tweeted that the Three Lions trained at Arsenal’s base at London Colney today, having relocated from St Georges Park last night to continue preparing for this weekend’s game against Nigeria.
Captain Harry Kane, Ashley Young, Dele Alli, Danny Welbeck, Gary Cahill, John Stones, Kyle Walker and Fabian Delph are amongst the players that participated in today's workout under the guidance of manager Gareth Southgate.
Ex-Chelsea starlet Nathaniel Chalobah was sighted training but the midfielder is unlikely to feature in Saturday's game as he is not in the traveling party to Russia.
England beat Nigeria 1-0 in the first match between the two nations in November 1994 and they played out a goalless draw eight years later at the 2002 World Cup.
While the Three Lions are sweating it out at Arsenal Training Center, their next opponents, Nigeria, are training at The Hive Stadium, just fifteen kilometers from where England are currently based.
The 1966 world champions face Tunisia in their World Cup opener on June 18, two days after the Super Eagles clash with Croatia.
