The national team coaches believe Kelechi deserves to be in the squad after an outstanding season in which he scored four goals in 16 appearances for MVV Maastricht, and he'll compete with his brother Chidiebere Nwakali for a midfield role against the Europa League winners.
''Kelechi is very much happy about the call-up, it will enhance his chances of being granted a work permit in the United Kingdom, it is a dream come true,'' Allwell Nwakali told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''He will land in Owerri this evening before moving to Uyo to join the team. Chidiebere's flight is this night.''

Kelechi Nwakali joined Arsenal on a five-year deal in the summer of 2016 after showing off his qualities at the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup, where he was named player of the tournament.
The 19-year-old was skipper of the Flying Eagles squad that failed to qualify for the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup.
