Leicester Boss Earmarks Three Players As Replacement For Unique Ndidi
Published: April 06, 2018Leicester City boss Claude Puel has earmarked three players to replace Wilfred Ndidi who will not be available for selection when the Foxes face Newcastle United and Burnley in the Premier League.
The English Football Association has confirmed that the Nigeria international will sit out two games after receiving a red card towards the end of the game against Brighton & Hove last weekend.
One of Vicente Iborra, Adrien Silva or Hamza Choudhury will replace Ndidi in the starting line-up but Puel has stressed that the profiles of the three players are different and they have to play as a team.
''We have three solutions with [Vicente] Iborra, [Adrien] Silva and [Hamza] Choudhury also available so we will see for Saturday our midfield,'' Puel told Leicester City's official website.
''It’s different attributes than Wilfred and we have to find the solution to give a collective response.
''Wilfred has attributes to recover a lot of balls, he’s strong in midfield and we cannot replace him with the same attributes but we can replace him with a collective response by sharing this part of the job between all the players.''
Ndidi was dismissed for only the second time in his professional career against the Seagulls.
