England Starlet Names Three Nigerian Whizkids Who Have Impressed Him At Arsenal
Published: March 08, 2018Arsenal rising star Reiss Nelson has heaped praise on three players of Nigerian descent, saying they are among the four players that have impressed him the most in the Gunners youth team.
The England U19 international singled out Bukayo Saka, Xavier Amaechi and Folarin Balogun for special praise on the back of their impressive showing against Colchester United in the quarterfinal of the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday.
The three Nigerians were on target as Arsenal thrashed The U's 5-1 to book their place in the last four of the prestigious competition.
''We’ve got so many talented youngsters in our ranks, but the ones who have really stood out to me are Trae Coyle at No 10 and Xavier on the wing, who has also made a couple of under-23 appearances,'' Nelson told arsenal.com.
“Flo Balogun is like a young Eddie Nketiah up front because he gets into good positions and always scores goals.
''I really like Bukayo Saka as well. He’s still young but is doing the business for them, including that really good goal at Anfield. He’s definitely one for the future.''
Saka and Amaechi represent the Young Lions internationally, while Balogun has yet to be capped by Nigeria or England.
