Lucky Emariojake unilaterally terminated his contract with Warri Wolves over unpaid wages, paving the way for him to join Heartland as a free agent.
The Delta State club were owing wages amounting to N6.3 million before he appended his signature to a 2+1 year deal with Heartland.
In preparation for the new season, Heartland participated in the South East pre-season tournament, where they faced Rivers United, Abia Warriors and FC Inter Enugu.
Their first game of the 2018 season is against Sunshine Stars at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
