Fred Friday Inspires AZ Alkmaar To 3-1 Win Over Heerenveen
Published: December 24, 2017Former Dream Team VI invitee Fred Friday inspired AZ Alkmaar to a 3-1 win over Heerenveen on game week 18 in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday, December 23.
The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form for AZ Alkmaar U21 team who play in the Jupiler League,scoring 7 goals in seven matches and is getting closer to reclaiming his first-team spot after his imperious display against Heerenveen.
Having come off the bench in the 77th minute with AZ trailing 1-0, Fred opened his goalscoring account in the Dutch top-flight this season in the 84th minute.
On 90 minutes, the young Nigerian striker was in the right place and fired past goalkeeper Hahn to double AZ's advantage.
AZ finished 2017 third in the standings with 38 points accumulated from 18 matches, they face Utrecht after the winter break.
