Super Eagles Striker Ogbeche Will Not Play For Willem II Until The New Year
Published: December 23, 2017Bartholomew Ogbeche has not been named in Willem II's traveling party to Amsterdam, where they face Eredivisie giants Ajax at Johan Cruyff Arena on Sunday afternoon, starting from 1430 hours.
Club medics have confirmed that the Nigeria international suffered a hamstring injury in the Cup tie against RKC Waalwijk on Tuesday and will be sidelined until the new year.
The 33-year old Ogbeche recently returned to action after a long-term knee injury that had kept him on the sidelines for eight months.
Despite playing fewer games, only PSV trio Lozano, van Ginkel and Locadia, and Feyenoord's Berghuis have scored more goals than the Nigerian in the Eredivisie this term.
In eight outings for Willem II, Ogbeche has found the net eight times, an average of one goal per game in the division.
His contract with the Tilburg-based club is due to run out at the end of this season.
