2017 MLS Expansion Draft : List Of Protected & Unprotected Nigerian Players
Published: December 12, 2017Major League Soccer clubs have announced the protected and unprotected list ahead of Tuesday’s 2017 MLS Expansion Draft.
Ten Nigerian players have been unprotected, including three Super Eagles stars in the shape of Nosa Igiebor (Vancouver Whitecaps), Sunday Stephen (Real Salt Lake) and Gbenga Arokoyo (Portland Timbers).
Former Super Eagles invitee Fanendo Ado is amongst the players protected by Portland Timbers.
Generation adidas (GA) and off-budget Homegrown Players (HG) are automatically exempt, current MLS clubs may protect up to 11 players from selection in the Expansion Draft.
