Nigerian Right-Back Returns To Action For Manchester United After Ten Weeks Out
Published: December 03, 2017Nigerian right-back Matthew Olosunde has fully recovered from injury that kept him on the sidelines for ten weeks.
The Trenton native had not featured for the Red Devils at any level since he was stretchered off the pitch in the closing minutes of the U23s 2-1 loss to Derby County on September 22, prior to Saturday's game against Celtic in the Premier League International Cup.
Olosunde came through his comeback game unscathed, having lasted the distance against the Scottish opponents and preventing them from scoring as United claimed a 2-0 win.
A brace from James Wilson secured the victory for Manchester United, who also paraded the Nigerian midfielder Tosin Kehinde at Leigh Sports Village.
Matthew Olosunde was a very important member of United's U23 squad before he got injured, making six starts from a possible six matches in the Premier League 2.
The 19-year-old was named to Manchester United's provisional rosters for Premier League matches against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur towards the end of last season.
