Croatia Legend Davor Suker : Argentina, Nigeria, Iceland & Croatia Are In Group Of Death
Published: December 02, 2017Croatian Football Federation President Davor šuker has noted that Group D which contains Argentina, Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria is the Group of Death at the World Cup.
The Europeans face the Super Eagles in their opening match of the World Cup on June 16 in Kaliningrad, before battling Argentina (June 21) and Iceland (June 26).
''I think this is perhaps the toughest team in the World Cup, all the teams are very respectable, and what else to say about Messi, who can decide on any match,'' Suker told the official website of Croatian Federation.
The former Arsenal striker added : ''Nigeria at the opening of the group is unknown to us now, but we know that they were undefeated in the qualifying group, which means they are very good.
''With Iceland we have some experience and I'm glad we did, given the breakdown of our last meeting in Reykjavik''.
Davor šuker represented Croatia at the 1998 World Cup and won the Adidas Golden Shoe with six goals.
