World Cup Draw : Top-Seeded Team Poland Scared Of Facing Nigeria In Group Of Death
Published: November 30, 2017One of the top seeds for Friday afternoon's World Cup draw in the Russian capital Moscow, Poland, are scared of a potential meeting with three-time African champions Nigeria in the group stage.
According to sportowefakty.wp.pl, based on the FIFA ranking, the strongest group is Germany, Spain, Costa Rica and Nigeria., and the weakest would consist of Russia Croatia, Iran and Panama.
Poland fear they could be knocked out of the competition in the group stage if they are pitted against Nigeria and Costa Rica in the same group, while a dream draw would see them battle Croatia, Iran and Panama.
Poland have qualified for the World Cup on eight occasions, and have never met Nigeria in previous tourneys.
Nigeria have faced European opponents eleven times in previous tournaments, winning five matches, drawing against England and losing to Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Greece and France.
In their maiden appearance at the World Cup in 1994, the Super Eagles topped their group with six points and repeated the same feat on French soil four years later.
