Moses, Henry Snubbed As UEFA Announce Shortlist For Fans Team Of The Year

Through their official website, European Football governing body, UEFA, has announced the fifty nominees for the 2017 Team of the Year, with no Nigerian player making the cut.

The shortlist contains five goalkeepers, fifteen defenders, fifteen midfielders and fifteen strikers led by the two best players on the planet Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Victor Moses, Nigeria's top candidate that would have been shortlisted, has managed only one game in the this season's Champions League, no thanks to a hamstring injury that prevented him from suiting up for Chelsea in their last three matches in the competition.

In addition, the likes of Henry Onyekuru (Anderlecht), Aaron Samuel (CSKA Moscow) and Emmanuel Emenike (Olympiakos) have yet to score in the group stage of the Champions League after five rounds.

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the only African shortlisted for the Team of the Year.
