NPFL Hot Shot Okpotu : I'll Take My Chances Against Benin Republic
Published: September 21, 2017Lobi Stars striker Anthony Okpotu is confident that he can add to his tally at the WAFU Cup of Nations when Nigeria tackle Benin Republic at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
Okpotu scored Nigeria's first goal in the group stage of the competition when he struck in the 52nd minute against Ghana in a 2-0 win.
''It's a semifinal game which we are all aware that it's a step to the finals and we are well prepared,'' said Anthony Akpotu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''All I need to do is to move in the right direction and when I get the passes, I'll take my chances in front of goal.''
The other Nigerian players that have registered their names on the score-sheet in the WAFU Cup are Osas Okoro and Peter Eneji.
Anthony Okpotu smashed 19 goals in the Nigeria Professional Football League this past season to win the Golden Boot award.
