Published: September 09, 2017Elite clubs in the Premier League are keeping tabs on Wilfred Ndidi, a young Nigerian midfielder who has impressed so much in his short time in the English top-flight, that he has drawn comparisons with former Super Eagles skipper Sunday Oliseh.
Nothing much new for big clubs you would think, but the 20-year-old has taken a different career path than most from the streets of Nigeria to England.
Ndidi was living on the streets when he was spotted by Nath Boys, an Academy based in Lagos.
He won laurels with the team and has gone from strength to strength, and is already a full Nigeria international.
Four Things You Need To Know About Ndidi:
1. Ndidi was born in December 19 1996, in Lagos.
2. He currently plays for Leicester City, a club he joined from Genk for a reported fee of £17 million in December 2016.
3. A robust central midfielder, his strength, vision and comfort on the ball have led his admirers to say he could become a future African Footballer of the Year.
4. He's already made a mark at international level, amassing eleven appearances for the Super Eagles since his debut against DR Congo in 2015.
