Outstanding Super Eagles Defender Leon Balogun Says Thank You To Nigerians
Published: September 05, 2017Super Eagles central defender Leon Balogun has taken to the social media to show his gratitude to soccer fans who kept on encouraging him during the double header with Cameroon.
The FSV Mainz no-nonsense defender was tigerish at the back as the Super Eagles picked four points against Indomitable Lions in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He put up great shifts in the colours of Nigeria and that attracted commendations from football fans on Twitter.
And the former Fortuna Dusseldorf utility player took to his Twitter handle @LeonBalogun to express his gratitude.
"The way you're showing me love is at another level. Don't even know what to say - I'm overwhelmed, touched. THANK YOU Nigeria 🙏🏽🇳🇬💚
"And to all the Nigerians showing me love for what I do I want say a MASSIVE thank you. It really means a lot to me - you're something else."
Balogun will be looking to make his first German Bundesliga appearance of the season when Mainz face Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.
