Published: September 02, 2017Bursaspor central defender William Troost-Ekong helped goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa to post a shutout in Nigeria's 4-0 rout of Cameroon on Friday, same day he celebrated his 24th birthday.
The former Netherlands U20 international has formed an effective partnership in central defense with Mainz 05 ace Leon Balogun since he broke into the national team setup in 2015.
Reacting to win against the African champs, Troost-Ekong tweeted : ''#OyinboWall 4-0 win against Cameroon. Couldn't be more proud to be part of this team. Best birthday present! Thanks to all the fans 🇳🇬''.
His partner in defense Balogun added : ''gang business''.
Balogun and Ekong mean warriors in the Yoruba and Ibibio tribes in Nigeria.
