English-Born Nigerian Midfielder Likely To Join Spurs, Ahead Of Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal
Published: August 24, 2017Everton midfielder of Nigerian descent Ross Barkley has been tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur ahead of his other suitors, according to Spurs legend Darren Anderton.
The Homegrown Player has been linked with all the big teams in the Premier League, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, after refusing to sign a contract extension with the Toffees.
"I think Ross Barkley will still sign for Tottenham despite other interest,'' Darren Anderton told sportingbet.com.
"I think the comments from Ronald Koeman were strange, Ross Barkley is a fantastic player, but I think he needs a manager that will love him and improve his game, like Pochettino, and coming to Tottenham will be the perfect pillar for him.
"However, with the current setup, Ross will struggle to get into the team.''
Apart from brief loan spells at Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday, Liverpool-born Barkley has spent the entirety of his career with Everton, whom he joined in 2005.
