Nigeria U23 Skipper Is Third Youngest Player To Feature In Turkish Top-Flight This Season
Published: August 17, 2017Nigeria U23 skipper Azubuike Okechukwu is the youngest player to feature for his club Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig in the 2017-2018 season.
Born 19 April 1997, the combative midfielder is the third youngest player overall to appear in the Turkish top-flight after match day one.
Mali U20 international Mamadou Fofana of Alanyaspor, born 21 January 1998, is the youngest player to feature in the Super Lig this season, followed by Fenerbahce attacking midfielder Samed Karakoc, who was born in Tokat June 30, 1997.
Okechukwu lasted the distance in Yeni Malatyaspor's 3-1 win over Raheem Lawal's Osmanlıspor on August 13 in his first appearance in the Super Lig.
He had attracted interest from Besiktas J.K, Galatasaray, Osmanlıspor and Kasimpasa this summer.
