Published: August 01, 2017Liverpool are through to the final of the 2017 Audi Cup after a routine 3-0 victory over German champions Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena (München) on Tuesday night.
England U20 World Cup-winning stars Dominic Solanke and Ovie Ejaria did travel with the squad for their tour of Germany but started on the bench, while Austria defender David Alaba made Bayern's starting XI.
On seven minutes, Sadio Mane ran clear and put Liverpool in front, and Bayern's defense was breached again in the 34th minute when Mohamed Salah added a second after a lovely piece of skill from the Senegalese winger.
Twenty minutes from time, Grujic thought he had increased the Premier League team's advantage but the goal was disallowed as Lallana got a touch on the line.
Liverpool's third goal finally came in the 83rd minute through Daniel Sturridge, who lifted the ball over goalkeeper Ulreich's head. Solanke replaced the Three Lions striker four minutes after his goal.
In Wednesday's final, Jurgen Klopp's troops will face Atlético Madrid who beat Napoli 2-1 in the opening match.
