Ten Chelsea Players Of Nigerian Descent Involved In International Action Last Season
Published: July 31, 2017Chelsea have officially revealed that sixty-two players on the books of the club were involved in international action for their respective countries last season at senior to U17 level.
If the U16 age group is included in the mix, ten players of Nigerian descent were called up to defend the colours of either Nigeria or England during the 2016-2017 campaign.
Victor Moses, John Obi Mikel and Kenneth Omeruo represented the Super Eagles, and their former number twelve also captained the Nigeria U23s at the Olympic Games.
Striker Tammy Abraham played for both England U19s and U21s, while Fikayo Tomori and Dominic Solanke turned out for the Young Lions at U19 and U20.
The prolific young striker Ike Ugbo returned from the international wilderness after he represented England U20s at the prestigious 2017 Toulon Tournament, midfielder Tariq Uwakwe was also involved for the Young Lions.
Ola Aina's younger brother Jordan, who is also a defender, and Faustino Anjorin represented England U16s.
