Why Liverpool Boss Vetoed The Transfer Of Talented Nigerian Winger To Newcastle United
Published: July 02, 2017Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp temporarily vetoed the transfer of England U20 international of Nigerian descent Sheyi Ojo in the summer transfer window.
Another Premier League club Burnley and Championship outfit Middlesbrough were also pushing to sign the exciting winger on a season-long loan deal.
The Liverpool Echo says Klopp wants to assess Ojo when he returns for pre-season training before making a decision on whether or not to send him out on loan for the third time in his career.
The 20-year-old previously enjoyed successful loan spells with Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Sheyi Ojo has contractual obligations with the Anfield club until the end of the 2019-2020 season.
