South Africa Captain Talks Tough : We Know Uyo, Twenty Five Soldiers Coming To Nigeria
Published: June 07, 2017South Africa national team captain Thulani Hlatshwayo has shared his thoughts on the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria.
In their last five visits to Nigeria, Bafana Bafana have not been able to pick up a win, but those stats appear spurious on current form because they have drawn their last three matches with the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles were unconvincing in their last competitive match with South Africa, and needed a late goal from Sone Aluko deep into injury time to deny the visitors a win.
“It’s a familiar environment that I’m aware of‚ and we know we have to go to Nigeria and come back with a good result,” Hlatshwayo told reporters in his homeland.
“We know that will demand a lot of soldiers around the team. I’m one of them‚ and we do have a lot of soldiers in this side.”
Twenty five players and twelve officials are expected to be in South Africa's traveling party to Lagos on Wednesday.
