Chelsea Goalkeeper Insists Referee Made The Right Call To Send Off Moses
Published: May 28, 2017Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had refused to blame Super Eagles dazzler Victor Moses in the wake of Chelsea losing the FA Cup final to underdogs Arsenal on Saturday at the National Stadium.
The Blues had a mountain to climb in their bid to win the game after the right fullback received a second yellow card for simulation in the second half, and Courtois has insisted that the referee made the right call to send off the Nigeria.
''The first goal should never have been allowed – it was clearly a handball and then Ramsey was offside because he he was interfering in play,'' Courtois told the BBC.
''After that goal, we tried to play but they deserved it.
''Then we went down to 10 men and the red card was correct. Victor Moses doesn’t need to apologise.''
Prior to the game against the Gunners, Moses was last sent off in a domestic fixture eight years ago while defending the colours of Crystal Palace against Derby County in the Championship.
