Official : Talented Nigerian Defender Taofiq Olomowewe Released By Burnley
Published: May 24, 2017Premier League club Burnley have announced their squad update following the conclusion of the 2016-2017 season.
The promising Nigerian central defender Taofiq Olomowewe has been notified by The Clarets that he won't be offered a new contract for the 2017-2018 season.
Aged 20, he departs Turf Moor without making a first-team appearance for the club, though he was a key member of the Development Team.
Olomowewe was spotted by Burnley's talent hunters while representing Nike Academy and was offered a contract in March 2016 after impressing on trial.
He will be remembered by the Burnley faithful for scoring a dramatic winner as Burnley U23s edged out Wigan in a nine-goal thriller at Christopher Park back in August.
