Published: May 20, 2017
England took a major step toward qualifying for the knockout rounds of the FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea after thrashing one of the pre-tournament favourites Argentina 3-0 at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on Saturday.
Chelsea duo Dominic Solanke and Fikayo Tomori plus Tottenham Hotspur wonderkid Josh Onomah were handed starts by Young Lions manager Paul Simpson.
Goals in either half from Calvert-Lewin and Armstrong put England 2-0 up and in control of proceedings.
Argentina played the last twelve minutes with ten men as Martinez received a red card for elbowing defender Tomori, which was spotted by the video assistants.
In the third minute of stoppage time, Solanke successfully converted a spot-kick to make it 3-0 to England.
Ejaria made his competitive debut for England's youth teams when he came off the bench to replace Onomah in the 84th minute, ten minutes after his Liverpool teammate Sheyi Ojo was introduced.
The sixth Nigerian player that made England's roster Ademola Lookman was an unused substitute.
