Former Liverpool Defender Could Be Back In The Premier League
Published: May 17, 2017Former Portugal youth international Tiago Ilori could return to the Premier League next season, less than five months after he departed Liverpool.
The versatile defender returned to Reading's starting eleven in the second leg of the playoff semifinal against Fulham at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night.
Ilori put in an almost flawless performance against the Cottagers and lasted the distance as the Royals booked their place at Wembley with a 2-1 aggregate victory.
The 24-year-old managed only five Championship appearances in the regular season due to a ligament injury he sustained against Fulham, shortly after completing his move to Reading.
In the playoff final, Ilori and his teammates will face either Sheffield Wednesday or Huddersfield Town.
