Nigeria Target Sheyi Ojo Happy To Make England Squad For World Cup
Published: May 10, 2017Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo is excited to part of the England U20 squad at the forthcoming Fifa U20 World Cup in South Korea, and hopes to justify his inclusion.
Along with fellow English-born Nigerian midfielder and teammate Ovie Ejaria, Ojo has endured an injury hit campaign which limited his appearances for the first team of the Reds.
“It’s always an honour to get picked for your country and I’m looking forward to it,” Ojo told Liverpool's official webpage.
“Hopefully me and Ovie can do well and represent the club well in the U20 World Cup.”
The Nigeria Football Federation have targeted Ojo and Ejaria to represent their senior national team, but both are fully focused on England youth teams for the time being.
The Young Lions begin their campaign against South America powerhouse Argentina on May 20, before games against Guinea and Korea Republic.
