Free-Scoring Striker Of Nigerian Descent Named In Ireland Squad For Euros
Published: May 01, 2017Republic of Ireland U17 manager Colin O’Brien has named College Corinthians striker of Nigerian and Irish extraction Adam Idah in his roster for the upcoming UEFA European Under 17 Championship in Croatia.
The 16-year-old Idah is regarded as one of the most promising talents in the Republic of Ireland, and was nominated for the Under 15 International Player of the Year by the FAI in March.
The highly-rated striker was part of Republic of Ireland U15 and U16 national teams before making the step up to the U17s.
Republic of Ireland will face Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Germany in the group stage.
Idah and his teammates departed Dublin on Monday ahead of their opening game against Serbia.
