Iwobi Admits Arsenal Players Need To Prove To The Fans They Are Still A Force In England
Published: April 26, 2017Arsenal attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi has admitted that they need to prove to the fans that they are still a force in England in their last eight games of the season.
Arsene Wenger's side currently occupy seventh position in the Premier League standings after managing four wins in their last ten matches in the top flight, and may have to settle for a Europa League spot if they don't win their remaining matches.
“I’m the type of person who likes to keep moving forward,” Iwobi said in Arsenal’s matchday programme ahead of the Leicester game.
“You have to improve day by day and obviously we’re not doing as well as we believe we should be doing, so when the next challenge comes up we have to try to prove to the fans and prove to everyone at Arsenal what we can do.”
The Gunners number 17 added : “We have some big games coming up, so everyone should be pumped up. We need to prove ourselves in these games.
“We have to prove to everyone that we can play against these top teams.”
Arsenal will tackle champions Leicester City at the Emirates on Wednesday night, before facing Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in their next two fixtures.
