Fanendo Adi Justifying Productive Striker Tag With Brace On MLS Opening Day
Published: March 04, 2017Fanendo Adi, who was recently named the second best target man in Major League Soccer, has not wasted time in justifying the tag of being one of the top stars in the American top-flight.
The former Super Eagles invitee notched a second half brace as the Timbers thrashed MLS newcomers Minnesota United FC 5-1 on Friday night (local time) at Providence Park.
In the first minute of stoppage time, Adi netted his first goal of the game following a counter attack, before adding more gloss to the scoreline two minutes later.
Following his two goals against Minnesota United, Adi has now tallied 43 goals in 91 regular season matches.
The 26-year-old joined Portland Timbers in May 2014 from FC Copenhagen.
