Arsenal Boss Vows To Support Disappointed Iwobi After OG
Published: November 24, 2016Arsenal manager , Arsene Wenger, has admitted that Alex Iwobi could not hide his disappointment after scoring an own goal in his team’s 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Gunners were 2-1 up and that scoreline would have seen them top the group with one game left, but thirteen minutes before the final whistle the Parisians found themselves level when Iwobi’s header deflected the ball past Ospina.
“Look, it can happen. The frustrating thing I think is that Ospina was behind him. He is certainly the most disappointed by what happened to him, ” Arsene Wenger told arsenal.com in his post match reactions.
“But that is part of the game. We have to take that on the chin and support him and go back into the next game.”
On his seventh appearance in the Champions League, the Super Eagles attacking midfielder subbed out in the 78th minute.
