Nigeria U17 Coach : Flamingoes Will Be Better Next Time
Published: October 09, 2016Nigeria U17 coach Nikyu Bala was not in tears after his team crashed out of the 2016 FIFA U17 Women’ s World Cup and has blamed it on inexperience.
The Flamingoes were sent packing from the ongoing tournament in Jordan after they were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by one of the superpowers of women football, North Korea, on Saturday.
“In football you must have a winner and a loser and, in the spirit of the game, if you lose, you take it. Football is like that. If you conceded goals, you conceded goals,” Bala told fifa.com in his post match comments.
“The journey has been cut short for many teams. Many teams are leaving Jordan by Monday. For us, it’s not about feeling bad. We have taken part in the World Cup and that is a wonderful experience.
“For most of the players, this was a new experience for them. A new and great experience. Next time, they can be better. ”
