Ike Ugbo Steals The Show As Chelsea Beat West Ham In U18 PL
Published: October 01, 2016One goal scored by England youth international of Nigerian heritage, Ike Ugbo, was the difference as Chelsea beat West Ham 1-0 in the U18 Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Manager Jody Morris named Ugbo in his starting line-up while midfielder Tariq Uwakwe was an unused substitute, and Olatunjji Akinola lasted the distance for the young Hammers.
Chelsea dominated in the early stages and were rewarded in the 16th minute when Ike Ugbo fired home a rebound after goalkeeper Howes had stopped Taylor-Crossdale.
The Blues played with ten men for the last 28 minutes but managed to secure all three points at Cobham.
Today’s strike was Ugbo’s third of the season for the youth teams of Chelsea.
