San Jose Earthquakes frontman Innocent Emeghara is the top earning player of Nigerian descent in the American top-flight with a guaranteed compensation of $1,300,000.00, followed by DC United star Kennedy Igboananike who pockets $901,666.67.
United States international Maurice Edu is earning $793,750.00 per season at Philadelphia Union, while Fanendo Adi of Portland Timbers ranks fourth with a guaranteed compensation of $712,500.00.
Super Eagles defender Gbenga Arokoyo takes home $110,600, marginally less than the $134,904.00 he was paid every year at Turkish club Gaziantepspor.
Houston Dynamo pair Anibaba Jalil and Ibeagha Sebastien remain the least paid Nigerian players, with both guaranteed $62,500 in 2016.
