Anorthosis Famagusta Protest Over Abdullahi Shehu Red Card
Published: September 27, 2016Cypriot First Division club Anorthosis Famagusta have issued a statement regarding the red card shown to Nigeria international Abdullahi Shehu.
In the 4-1 loss to AEK Larnaca on Sunday, the defender took the walk of shame after eleven minutes in his first start for the club, and it is being suggested that the second yellow card he received was too harsh.
“We apologize to the world for the embarrassing display, will be taken measures. ” Anorthosis Famagusta stated on Monday through their spokesman Savvas Pilakoutas.
“With a clear mind tomorrow the administration will take the decisions it deems best for the team. The red card was too strict.”
Last season, Abdullahi Shehi was cautioned four times and dismissed once while defending the colours of União Madeira in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
