Sunderland Confirm Shirt Numbers For Three Nigerian Strikers
Published: September 08, 2016English Premier League club Sunderland have updated their squad numbers for the 2016-2017 campaign on their official webpage following the arrival of Victor Anichebe, Jason Denayer and Didier Ndong.
Nigeria international Anichebe will play with with the number 28 kit until he comes off contract in the summer.
In his last appearance for West Brom, against Watford, the attacker wore the iconic number ten kit and if you add up the digits on the back of his shirt at the Black Cats, it is equivalent to ten.
London-born Josh Maja, 17, is eligible to play in the Premier League and has been handed the number 35 jersey.
Sweden U21 international of Nigerian descent Joel Asoro will wear the number 29 shirt.
